Volunteer Bushcare Working Bee - McDowall Bushcare Group
Join other like-minded volunteers to help protect and restore Brisbane’s unique biodiversity through our Habitat Brisbane program. Whatever your skill level and motivation, joining your local Habitat Brisbane group is a great way to connect to nature and be active and healthy, all while meeting new people, developing new skills and making a difference to your local environment. With 160 groups across the city there’s bound to be one near you! Habitat Brisbane volunteers undertake a variety of activities including: managing environmental weeds revegetating with local native plants creating habitat for native wildlife citizen science projects. The McDowall Bushcare Group meet every Tuesday from 8.30-11.30am.
Kids yoga
Join us for yoga in the park, it's fun and exciting! Breathe in the fresh air, stretch like your favourite animals under the trees, and try out some awesome poses. This is a Chillout event suitable for young people 5-11 years.
HIIT - cardio strength and core
Circuit training, strength, cardio and core. Boost up your heart rate, with this fun active class to improve your cardio and core strength. High intensity interval training, mixed with circuit training and tabata. All ages and abilities welcome.
Silver Swan's Ballet Classes
Release your inner dancer – join our Silver Swans class – specially designed ballet classes for 55 year old’s plus (though there is no upper or lower age limit). Improve balance – minimising falls Slowing down ageing (connected to calming the immune system) Increasing cognitive ability (by promoting new synapse connection) Not to mention the social benefits!
Wheely Fun
Riding's more fun on two wheels - in just one session our friendly trainer will help your young one make the transition from training wheels or balance bike to pedalling on two wheels, and provide some tips for how you can keep encouraging them. Presented as part of Council's Cycling Brisbane program.
Inala Multicultural Festival
The Inala Multicultural Festival is a free, one-day-only celebration for families across our local community and beyond. Held at the Dogs Queensland in Durack, the event brings together vibrant cultural performances, free rides, incredible food from around the world and a diverse mix of community and market stalls. Proudly run by Inala Community House, the festival is a true reflection of the community it celebrates. Inala is one of Brisbane’s most culturally rich suburbs, home to people from many backgrounds, each contributing to a strong sense of identity, connection and pride. Created to be a safe, inclusive and welcoming space, the festival gives the community a chance to come together, share culture and celebrate diversity. Community Immunisation Clinic - Brisbane City
Brisbane City Council provides free vaccinations to eligible residents (aged from 6 weeks and above) through our community immunisation clinics. Immunisation helps protect people against diseases such as influenza, measles, whooping cough, polio and tetanus. Take a look at Immunisation Schedule Queensland for advice about when you should be vaccinated. Providing a free immunisation service is another way Council is helping deliver Brisbane Vision 2031.

Children’s storytime in the park - 166 Glen Holm St, Mitchelton.
Experience the magic of storytime with your child during a First 5 Forever storytime session in the park at the Pop-up Library. This interactive session includes stories and songs for young children. Ideal for children from birth to five years and their parents or carers. First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government. Location: Sid Loder Park, 166 Glen Holm St, near Mitchelton library. On-street and park parking is available nearby.
Artist in Residence: Martin Edge
Queensland artist Martin Edge brings his playful, joy‑filled world to the Fairfax Gallery for his Artist in Residence project. Known for his vibrant scenes inspired by everyday life, from seaside moments and city adventures to his much‑loved CityCat journeys, Edge blends memory and imagination into colourful, whimsical compositions. Across three weeks, Edge will create a large‑scale mural directly onto the gallery walls, offering visitors a rare opportunity to watch his process in action and chat with him as the work evolves. Featuring bright colours, bold geometric forms and iconic Brisbane landmarks, the finished artwork will present two lively scenes of Brisbane City in Edge’s distinctive style. Artist in Residence: Renee Kire
Step inside an exciting new residency project that invites you to experience art in unexpected ways. Artist in Residence Renee Kire takes over Museum of Brisbane’s entryway, transforming these spaces with a vibrant and dynamic mix of striking vinyl graphics and sculptural timber elements. These features create an immersive pathway that stretches across walls and ceilings, guiding you into the heart of the Museum. Drawing inspiration from Minimalism while reinterpreting the movement through a contemporary feminist lens, Kire brings fresh attention to the often-overlooked contributions of women in the field. Bright, colourful and welcoming for all visitors, the artwork is both joyful and thought-provoking. Responding directly to the architecture of the Museum, City Hall and the Brisbane cityscape, Kire’s design reveals unexpected connections between the built environment and abstract form. Repetition, rhythm and thoughtful details invite you to slow down, look closely and discover new perspectives. MoB’s Artist in Residence program is supported by Tim Fairfax AC. MoB Kids: City Sculptures
Build, balance and create. Kids can design and construct their own 3D geometric sculptures of Brisbane’s cityscape and unique architecture. Using colourful shapes and textured elements inspired by Artist in Residence, Renee Kire, little makers can experiment with balance, structure and form while bringing their creative ideas to life. MoB Kids: Remix your Brissy
Build your own Brisbane! Plan your cityscape using paper pieces by Artist in Residence, Martin Edge. Kids can cut, remix and twist together iconic drawings to invent a brand-new city bursting with colour and imagination. Additionally, kids can enter a special competition for the chance to have their creation transformed into a one-of-a-kind artwork by Martin Edge to keep. Warrajamba
Follow the mermaid in the bay. Dive into story, culture and hands-on creativity with our latest Artist in Residence, Quandamooka artist Delvene Cockatoo-Collins. Journey alongside Delvene to the shores of Minjerribah and discover the ancestral story of Warrajamba, the mermaid, a living cultural legacy that Delvene continues to explore as she searches for its lost ending. Get hands-on and create your own mermaid or dugong using artist-designed stamps, connecting with the stories of Warrajamba and Yungong, the dugong. Discover Delvene’s powerful sculptural work made from materials gathered from Country - yungair/yungaire (freshwater reed), talwalpin (beach hibiscus cotton tree), and quampie shell. Come and be immersed in a space that celebrates care for land, sea and story. MoB’s Artist in Residence program is supported by Tim Fairfax AC. Junior Explorers: Bug Detectives (6 years+) (with iNaturalist)
Meet some of the Environment Centre’s resident insects and other mini-beasts at a fun bug show, then test out your detective skills on a short walk investigating bugs and their habitats. What will we find living nearby? Learn how you can help these bugs using citizen science app, iNaturalist. Join this one-of-a-kind school holiday activity to discover fascinating facts about bugs and other mini-beasts and find out why these amazing animals are nature’s superheroes! This activity is for the general public. If you are a daycare or vacation group interested in attending a similar activity, send an email. Bookings requirements: All adults and children require a ticket. A ratio of 1 adult per 4 children is required.
