RQAS Queensland Figurative Exhibition

Celebrate the talent and creativity of Queensland artists at the RQAS Queensland Figurative Exhibition, a showcase dedicated to figurative artworks in all their dynamic and expressive forms. The Queensland Figurative is a non‑acquisitive art competition that highlights the enduring significance of the human figure in visual art. These works will be on display for an entire month, offering visitors plenty of time to explore a diverse collection that interprets, challenges and celebrates the human form. Royal Queensland Art Society is proudly supported by Brisbane City Council.

Warrajamba

Follow the mermaid in the bay. Dive into story, culture and hands-on creativity with our latest Artist in Residence, Quandamooka artist Delvene Cockatoo-Collins. Journey alongside Delvene to the shores of Minjerribah and discover the ancestral story of Warrajamba, the mermaid, a living cultural legacy that Delvene continues to explore as she searches for its lost ending. Get hands-on and create your own mermaid or dugong using artist-designed stamps, connecting with the stories of Warrajamba and Yungong, the dugong. Discover Delvene’s powerful sculptural work made from materials gathered from Country - yungair/yungaire (freshwater reed), talwalpin (beach hibiscus cotton tree), and quampie shell. Come and be immersed in a space that celebrates care for land, sea and story. MoB’s Artist in Residence program is supported by Tim Fairfax AC. The Creative Space is proudly supported by Major Partner Brisbane Airport and generously supported by Ian and Cass George, and Holly and John Livingstone. Warrajamba is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland. Museum of Brisbane is Brisbane City Council’s leading history and art museum where you can experience our city’s vibrant culture.

Bush Kindy

Bush Kindy

Bush Kindy is for children aged 3 - 5 years, alongside their parents and carers. Be immersed in the natural surroundings of the reserve as children build nature confidence and respect for the environment through bushwalks, exploration, story-time, art 'n' craft and much more. Bush Kindy sessions can go for roughly 45 minutes and will go ahead in light rain. Themes and activities vary each week. This activity is for the general public. If you are a daycare or vacation group interested in attending a similar activity, email BWEC@brisbane.qld.gov.au Requirements: Arrive minimum 10 minutes early to check in with staff at the centre. All children must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult. Wear a hat, sun-safe clothing, fully enclosed walking shoes (no thongs or open shoes please), sunscreen, and bring insect repellent. Suitable old clothes recommended for messy play. Water and a snack if required, as there are no food outlets on site.Note: All outdoor events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.

Seido Karate Classes for Children

Seido Karate Classes for Children

Our children’s program has classes at 5.30pm, three times per week (Monday, Thursday & Friday). The majority of students in our children’s program are 6-12 years old, but we have some children start as young as 4 or 5 and some parents who join in the class with their child(ren). Our classes are suitable for beginners through to advanced students. On Monday and Thursday, an advanced class is run simultaneously for our advanced yellow, green, and brown belt students. Children learn discipline, focus, confidence, strength and humility as well as being active and learning to socialise and work with other children of various ages, abilities and backgrounds.
