Museum of Brisbane is excited to collaborate with Magpie Goose, a proudly Aboriginal owned and led fashion and social enterprise, to celebrate extraordinary First Nations cultural stories and designs. This exclusive to Brisbane exhibition, developed in close collaboration with Magpie Goose owners Amanda Hayman (Wakka Wakka and Kalkadoon) and Troy Casey (Kamilaroi), offers a deep dive into the work of some of the region’s most talented First Nations artists and designers. Using clothing as a canvas for storytelling, this exciting collaboration will connect audiences with the rich and diverse cultural expressions of First Nations communities in Queensland and beyond. No experience needed! Simply arrive, relax and reset. Arrival & Welcome When you arrive at the Brisbane Botanical Gardens, you’ll be warmly greeted by your facilitators and guided into a peaceful, air-conditioned indoor space designed for sensory immersion. The room features calming ambient lighting and subtle soundscapes to help you immediately unwind. Yoga mats are provided, and no additional equipment is required. Just wear comfortable clothing and settle in. Gentle Movement, Breathwork & Meditation Techniques Your journey begins with gentle somatic movement to release physical tension and help you feel grounded in your body. These movements are slow, accessible and suitable for all abilities — no fitness or flexibility required. As the body softens, guided breathwork and integrated meditation techniques help regulate the nervous system, quiet the mind and deepen your sense of presence. Sound Bath with Light Reiki You’ll then lie comfortably on your mat for the sound bath experience. Crystal singing bowls, chimes and harmonic instruments create soothing vibrational frequencies that encourage deep relaxation and emotional balance. Light Reiki may be offered for those who wish to receive it, supporting calm, grounding and energetic integration throughout the session. Closing & Integration As the session gently concludes, you’ll be guided back to wakefulness and invited to notice how your body and mind feel.
