Four Visions, One Space exhibition
'Four Visions, One Space' is an exciting group exhibition at the Richard Randall Art Studio in the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mt. Coot-tha Road. Featuring works by award-winning artists – Monica Anthon, Juana Bernardo, Lesley Bright and Shruti Kashikar this exhibition celebrates their diverse personal visions and stories through their artistic creations. There is an appealing array of unique artworks including unique semi-precious jewellery, original paintings, gifts and art cards, and textile sculptures, all handmade and one-of-a-kind gifts. This is the perfect opportunity to do your gift shopping under one roof, or get in early for Mother’s Day shopping. There will also be live demonstrations of painting to show the creative process in action. Or come and chat with the artist who will be happy to share her art processes. The Richard Randall Art Studio is located in the Bamboo Grove at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mount Coot-tha. This exclusive to Brisbane exhibition, developed in close collaboration with Magpie Goose owners Amanda Hayman (Wakka Wakka and Kalkadoon) and Troy Casey (Kamilaroi), offers a deep dive into the work of some of the region’s most talented First Nations artists and designers. MacArthur Museum - New exhibition on Prisoners of War
In a new exhibit on Australian Prisoners of War in the Pacific, MacArthur Museum highlights the horrific experience of Australians as prisoners of the Japanese through a new physical and digital display. The display examines the conditions the Prisoners of War worked under, the ingenuity of the medical officers and the brutality of their captors. Come and visit the MacArthur Museum to learn about the role of Brisbane in World War 2, the South West Pacific Area Campaign and General Douglas MacArthur. Across three weeks, Edge will create a large‑scale mural directly onto the gallery walls, offering visitors a rare opportunity to watch his process in action and chat with him as the work evolves. Featuring bright colours, bold geometric forms and iconic Brisbane landmarks, the finished artwork will present two lively scenes of Brisbane City in Edge’s distinctive style. Artist in Residence: Renee Kire
Step inside an exciting new residency project that invites you to experience art in unexpected ways. Artist in Residence Renee Kire takes over Museum of Brisbane’s entryway, transforming these spaces with a vibrant and dynamic mix of striking vinyl graphics and sculptural timber elements. These features create an immersive pathway that stretches across walls and ceilings, guiding you into the heart of the Museum. Drawing inspiration from Minimalism while reinterpreting the movement through a contemporary feminist lens, Kire brings fresh attention to the often-overlooked contributions of women in the field. Bright, colourful and welcoming for all visitors, the artwork is both joyful and thought-provoking. Responding directly to the architecture of the Museum, City Hall and the Brisbane cityscape, Kire’s design reveals unexpected connections between the built environment and abstract form. RQAS Queensland Figurative Exhibition
Celebrate the talent and creativity of Queensland artists at the RQAS Queensland Figurative Exhibition, a showcase dedicated to figurative artworks in all their dynamic and expressive forms. The Queensland Figurative is a non‑acquisitive art competition that highlights the enduring significance of the human figure in visual art. These works will be on display for an entire month, offering visitors plenty of time to explore a diverse collection that interprets, challenges and celebrates the human form.
