Children’s storytime in the park - Dorrington Park, Ashgrove
Experience the magic of storytime with your child during a First 5 Forever storytime session in the park at the Pop-up Library. This interactive session includes stories and songs for young children. Ideal for children from birth to five years and their parents or carers. First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government.
Little Artist’s Eye Spy
Polish your peepers! You never know what you might spot. There is plenty for little eyes to spy with this free MoB Kids activity sheet. Transform your Museum visit into an exciting game of Eye Spy and discover details you might otherwise have missed. Can you spot the flowers? This playful Museum experience will immerse you in all manners of local art, history and culture, encompassing five different exhibitions. Ask our friendly staff at MoB reception when you arrive. Micro Museum
What will you collect? Welcome to Micro Museum – a space for telling stories through objects. You are invited to explore the fascinating world of collecting, and uncover the memories that objects hold. Inspired by major exhibition Precious in this space you are the curator. You can select, sort and arrange a wide array of items, many of which are second-hand or vintage. Each object holds memories, and now you can create your own. Museum of Brisbane is Brisbane City Council's leading history and art museum where you can experience our city's vibrant culture. For more information, please visit the MoB website.
Bush Kindy
Bush Kindy is for children aged 3-5 years, alongside their parents and carers. Be immersed in the natural surroundings of the reserve as children build nature confidence and respect for the environment through bushwalks, exploration, story-time, art 'n' craft and much more. Bush Kindy sessions can go for roughly 45 minutes and will go ahead in light rain. Themes and activities vary each week. This activity is for the general public. If you are a daycare or vacation group interested in attending a similar activity, email KFDC@brisbane.qld.gov.au Requirements: Arrive minimum 10 minutes early to check in with staff at the centre. All children must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult. Wear a hat, sun-safe clothing, fully enclosed walking shoes (no thongs or open shoes), sunscreen, and bring insect repellent. Suitable old clothes recommended for messy play. Water and a snack if required, as there are no food outlets on site. Note: All outdoor events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.

Gumtreekids Messy Play at Grinstead Park - Theme TBA (mini session)
Our Mini Sessions are a mixed-age play experience, welcoming little ones of all ages to play side by side. With no designated age zones, children are free to explore together in a small, supportive group of 22 -25 kids at a time. These sessions encourage social connection, sibling play, and shared discovery in a relaxed, fun-filled sensory environment. Perfect for families wanting a smaller , connected play experience.
Clock Tower Tour
Discover the hidden secrets of your heritage-listed City Hall building with a guided tour of Brisbane’s iconic Clock Tower. The Clock Tower Tour is a “must do” while in Brisbane! For many years, City Hall’s Clock Tower elevated the building to Brisbane’s tallest, offering visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of the city around them. Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of “taking a trip up the tower” happily continues at Museum of Brisbane. The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Guided bird watching walk
Join Environment Centre staff on an early morning walk and improve your bird identification skills while exploring Raven St Reserve. Environment Centre staff will guide you through their tips and tricks to observing birds while providing fun information on what you might see while out in the suburban bush. 12 years and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This activity is for the general public. If you are a daycare or vacation group interested in attending a similar activity, email DCBC@brisbane.qld.gov.au Requirements: Please wear a wide-brimmed hat, secure, fully enclosed walking shoes, sun-smart clothing, sunscreen and insect repellent. Gumtreekids Messy Play at Oriel Park - Ocean theme
Our regular Messy Play sessions are all about hands-on fun and sensory exploration using taste-safe, food-based materials. We create a welcoming space for all ages, with a dedicated baby zone for 6–18 months, a toddler zone for busy little movers, and during school holidays we also welcome over 5s to join in the fun. These sessions encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence through play - all in a relaxed, family-friendly environment.

Practical Wing Chun
Welcome to Practical Wing Chun! We are the martial arts school in Brisbane. Wing Chun is a Kungfu well known for its close quarters combat. It was designed for the street environment where aggression occurs more often. Practical Wing Chun welcomes people of all ages, gender, race, religious beliefs, skill levels, and body types. We believe people of all walks of life should experience the benefits that martial arts offer.
Seido Karate Classes for Adults & Teens
Our adult program offers classes at 6.30pm, three times a week (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday). Our adult program includes students as young as 10 through to students as mature as 80+! The adult syllabus starts from 15 years old, with students learning the junior (children’s) syllabus up until this age. Our classes are suitable for beginners through to advanced students. On Monday and Thursday, an advanced class is run simultaneously for our green, brown and black belt students. Black belt classes are also run at 7.30pm on Monday and Thursday. Adults and teenagers learn discipline, focus, confidence, strength and humility as well as being active and having the opportunity to socialise, meet and work out with like-minded individuals of various ages, abilities and backgrounds.

Gumtreekids baby only Messy Play at Carindale Recreation Reserve - Ocean theme
Join us for a messy, fun and creative themed messy play experience! At Gumtree Kids, little hands are encouraged to explore, create and play freely through thoughtfully designed sensory stations and open-ended play. Each session is themed, hands-on and full of textures, colours and imagination - all set up for children to enjoy at their own pace. Perfect for curious babies, toddlers and preschoolers, our sessions are suitable for ages 6 months to early walkers, with a relaxed, welcoming environment for families to connect, play and make memories together. Come along, get messy, and let the creativity flow.

Passport to the Universe
Get your passport for a thrilling journey through the Solar System, out of the Milky Way Galaxy and to the edge of the observable universe, returning home via a black hole. Narrated by Tom Hanks. Session concludes with a virtual tour of the Brisbane night sky. Passport to the Universe was developed by the American Museum of Natural History, New York in collaboration with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Major support for new version provided by the California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco.

Our children’s program has classes at 5.30pm, three times per week (Monday, Thursday & Friday). The majority of students in our children’s program are 6-12 years old, but we have some children start as young as 4 or 5 and some parents who join in the class with their child(ren). Our classes are suitable for beginners through to advanced students. On Monday and Thursday, an advanced class is run simultaneously for our advanced yellow, green, and brown belt students. Children learn discipline, focus, confidence, strength and humility as well as being active and learning to socialise and work with other children of various ages, abilities and backgrounds.
