50 Plus: Clogging - Basic to easy-Intermediate
Clogging is an American folk dance from the Southern Appalachian Mountains, with ties to step dances from the British Isles, traditional dance of the Native Americans, and solo dances of African Americans. It was introduced to Australia in the 1980's and there are dance clubs around the country.Clogging shoes have double-taps which are used to create rhythms, and the heel of your clogging shoe is the timekeeper. But you don't need clogging shoes to start dancing, leather-soled shoes with a low heel are ideal for beginners.Clogging is cued, like square dancing or aerobics, and dancers learn steps, not routines. In fact, learning the bidding first is a mistake and can be a turnoff to new players.Bridge is a partnership game requiring four players. Each player sits opposite his partner at a card table (in this age of computers the concept could be a simulated).Join us for at this session to socialise and play bridge.

Writing Mondays
Writing Mondays is a free, volunteer-led program for writers at all levels. Come and finish your story, while connecting with other writers in your community. Inspired by Queensland Writers Centre's successful Writing Friday program, these sessions follow the Pomodoro Technique of 25-minute blocks and 5-minute breaks. Every third 'Pomodoro', we take a 15-minute break to relax and recharge. The idea behind the method is to train the mind into working effectively to reach smaller targets, improving the overall writing time and productivity.
