Leading contemporary artist Gerwyn Davies presents a series of striking photographic portraits developed in collaboration with trans and gender-diverse young people from Open Doors Youth Service. Each vivid image features a handcrafted sculptural costume, allowing the wearer to represent themselves in spectacular ways while simultaneously retaining their anonymity. Together, the works celebrate self-expression, resilience, and the power of chosen visibility. MoB’s Artist in Residence program is supported by Tim Fairfax AC. Petrie Terrace Gallery is showcasing the artwork of Queensland's emerging fine artists throughout the entire month of March with the Young Artist Award Exhibition.  For this exhibition, young artists will submit 2D works on a subject of their choice, focusing on paintings and drawings of a subject observed from life. This includes landscapes, portraits, still lives and their depictions of the world around them.  There will be an open day on Saturday 7 March from 2-3:30pm to celebrate the official opening of the RQAS Young Artist Award Exhibition. Gathering presents Leanne Levinge.  Leanne Levinge (Kombumerri and Ngugi) is a narrative therapist, counsellor, and facilitator based in Magandjin (Brisbane). Through her practice, Big Hill & Oyster, she designs reflective experiences that nurture compassion, connection, and reconciliation, weaving together story, culture, and community to grow understanding and strengthen our shared humanity.  Join Kombumerri and Ngugi narrative therapist Leanne Levinge for a gentle, interactive hour of reflection and storytelling. Together, we’ll explore how compassion can grow through story and connection, add our own words to a community display, and take home native seeds to nurture as living reminders of kindness. Join us at the main stage, Queen Street Mall from 12 noon-1pm.  This Gathering event is produced by Cre8tive Nations.
