Ellis and the Night Orchestra - Tiny Stages Series
Thursday, 30 April 2026, 9am - 2:45pm

Ellis and the Night Orchestra - Tiny Stages Series

Ellis and the Night Orchestra is a new chamber opera for ages 0-5 by writer-director Julie Ritchey and composer/performer Tim Munro, featuring musicians of Southern Cross Soloists. Ellis is too scared to sleep. Each time he lays down to close his eyes, he hears strange sounds. Is it a monster....or an airplane flying overhead? A creaky floor, or a ghost? They seem to be in the room with him. As the night goes on, Ellis befriends the sounds, becoming the conductor of his very own Night Orchestra and transforming his fears into beautiful music. This playful and heartfelt journey will resonate with anyone who has struggled with bedtime. "From babes in arms, to five-year-olds and their grownups—they were so still, so actively engaged in the story and the beauty of the sounds. All three of us, my five-year-old granddaughter, my daughter and myself, we were blown away." - Audience member Runt time: Approximately 45 minutes. Wine Mum Anthems
Saturday, 2 May 2026, 2 - 3:10pm

Wine Mum Anthems

A new comedy cabaret for everyone who used to be cool...or not! Come along and mine the archive of Triple J classics of the late 1990s and early 2000s through the (funky glasses frame) lenses of best friends Kate Schirmer and Jen Teh – who used to be super cool. Actually, they were never cool, but they went to a lot of gigs.  This show is for every geriatric millennial who is just trying to figure out when they went from singing all of “No Aphrodisiac” at 2am in a bar in The Valley to having it referred to as a “Wine Mum Anthem” in the Hottest 100 of all time. Featuring stories from Jen & Kate’s ill spent youth, and classy cabaret arrangements of songs from iconic bands and artists like The Whitlams, Missy Higgins, You Am I, Lior and more, this show is a must see for anyone who has ever made a mix tape (or even just knows what one is). Ages 15+ only. This show contains gratuitous swearing, sexual references and questionable choices. And a whole lot of absolute bangers from the early 00s. Venue: The Raven Hotel Cellar, 400 Montague Road, West End Proudly presented by Kate Schirmer & Jen Teh and The Anywhere Festival, Brisbane.

Square Peg, Bonus Hole Comedy Show

In a world where anyone can be anything…There is a comedy show that identifies as hilarious. Join Daniel Bruschweiler for Square Peg, Bonus Hole, a stand-up hour that tackles masculinity, relationships, and navigating the world as one of the internet’s favourite punching bags: a millennial (with some trans stuff thrown in, but luckily no one hates trans people). This show is for anyone who feels like they don't fit the narrative, don't fit the box or just don't feel like they are enough. A night of absurd, self-aware comedy that strips away society’s expectations and asks the big questions: Who are we supposed to be? Who are we really? And why does Daniel, deep down, just wants to be Jason Statham with hair.
