Gathering present Weaving with Kyara. Kyara Hourigan is a proud Bundjalung, Mununjali, Kamilaroi and Mandandanji woman whose weaving practice was passed down through her mother. Working with raffia and traditional Lomandra grass, her work included baskets, art and jewellery.Weave your own bookmark with Kyara from 12 noon to 1pm at the Queen Street Mall stage on Wednesday 26 August. Gathering presents Rochelle Pitt.Experience the powerful voice and inspiring story of Rochelle Pitt Watson, a proud Quandamooka, Meriam Erubam Le singer-songwriter whose music celebrates culture, strength, and identity.Rochelle began singing and performing from a young age through church and choir communities in Far North Queensland. In her early twenties, she gained widespread recognition with her original songs Too Deadly My Sister and Black to Reality, from her acclaimed EP Black to Reality-a collection of uplifting and empowering songs that honour First Nations people and experiences.Renowned for her captivating stage presence and heartfelt performances, Rochelle has built a successful career spanning music festivals, community events, and corporate engagements across Australia. Her journey from nurse and mother to national television performer on The X Factor Australia has inspired audiences around the country.
