Follow the mermaid in the bay. Dive into story, culture and hands-on creativity with our latest Artist in Residence, Quandamooka artist Delvene Cockatoo-Collins. Journey alongside Delvene to the shores of Minjerribah and discover the ancestral story of Warrajamba, the mermaid, a living cultural legacy that Delvene continues to explore as she searches for its lost ending. Get hands-on and create your own mermaid or dugong using artist-designed stamps, connecting with the stories of Warrajamba and Yungong, the dugong. Discover Delvene’s powerful sculptural work made from materials gathered from Country - yungair/yungaire (freshwater reed), talwalpin (beach hibiscus cotton tree), and quampie shell. Come and be immersed in a space that celebrates care for land, sea and story. MoB’s Artist in Residence program is supported by Tim Fairfax AC. Step inside an exciting new residency project that invites you to experience art in unexpected ways. Artist in Residence Renee Kire takes over Museum of Brisbane’s entryway, transforming these spaces with a vibrant and dynamic mix of striking vinyl graphics and sculptural timber elements. These features create an immersive pathway that stretches across walls and ceilings, guiding you into the heart of the Museum. Drawing inspiration from Minimalism while reinterpreting the movement through a contemporary feminist lens, Kire brings fresh attention to the often-overlooked contributions of women in the field. Bright, colourful and welcoming for all visitors, the artwork is both joyful and thought-provoking. MoB Kids: City Sculptures
Build, balance and create. Kids can design and construct their own 3D geometric sculptures of Brisbane’s cityscape and unique architecture. Using colourful shapes and textured elements inspired by Artist in Residence, Renee Kire, little makers can experiment with balance, structure and form while bringing their creative ideas to life. A fun and creative activity perfect for imaginative builders. No bookings required – just drop in and create! The Great Beach Adventure
A joyful, imagination-powered escapade for children aged 3–10 and their grown-ups. When two best friends decide it’s beach day, their living room transforms into a world of waves, pirates, sea creatures, and sun-soaked silliness. The Great Beach Adventure is a story about imagination. Jacob has never been to the beach - Courtney has. This interactive, high-energy performance celebrates how kids play, problem-solve, and imagine their way through big adventures using everyday things. With physical comedy, playful surprises, and heartwarming friendship, it’s the perfect Fringe treat that will have the whole family ready for their very own Great Beach Adventure! Celebrating Country and Culture through the bold designs of Magpie Goose. Museum of Brisbane is excited to collaborate with Magpie Goose, a proudly Aboriginal owned and led fashion and social enterprise, to celebrate extraordinary First Nations cultural stories and designs. This exclusive to Brisbane exhibition, developed in close collaboration with Magpie Goose owners Amanda Hayman (Wakka Wakka and Kalkadoon) and Troy Casey (Kamilaroi), offers a deep dive into the work of some of the region’s most talented First Nations artists and designers. Using clothing as a canvas for storytelling, this exciting collaboration will connect audiences with the rich and diverse cultural expressions of First Nations communities in Queensland and beyond. Queensland artist Martin Edge brings his playful, joy‑filled world to the Fairfax Gallery for his Artist in Residence project. Known for his vibrant scenes inspired by everyday life, from seaside moments and city adventures to his much‑loved CityCat journeys, Edge blends memory and imagination into colourful, whimsical compositions. Across three weeks, Edge will create a large‑scale mural directly onto the gallery walls, offering visitors a rare opportunity to watch his process in action and chat with him as the work evolves. Featuring bright colours, bold geometric forms and iconic Brisbane landmarks, the finished artwork will present two lively scenes of Brisbane City in Edge’s distinctive style. Dating Disasters - Wynnum Fringe
Dating Disasters is about the many misgivings of momentous meetings, raunchy rendezvous and cataclysmic love affairs that happen when we attempt to date. It is a verbatim cabaret, that features anonymous stories gathered from our audience and weaved with like-a-version music and tales from my own experiences of the dating world. Dating is something that all adults typically endure and usually have an experience worth forgetting – or is it?! Join Bea as she proves that she isn’t a psychotic stalker, but simply an emotional being who needs her feelings requited. Will she find the meaning of healthy relationships and also true love? This hilarious cabaret illustrates how love can go wrong and the way to survive it! Wynnum Fringe is proudly supported by Brisbane City Council.

Lord Mayor's City Hall Concerts - Christopher Wrench
Lord Mayor's City Hall Concerts presents Christopher Wrench. Internationally acclaimed Brisbane organist, Christopher Wrench playing the iconic Father Henry Willis Organ. As one of Australia's most respected organists, Christopher Wrench has performed at numerous festivals and annual international tours all over the world. Christopher is currently Director of Music at Christ Church St Lucia, Chapel Music Director at St John's College (University of Queensland), and a member of the Brisbane City Council 'Willis Organ Advisory Committee'. This Lord Mayor's City Hall Concert is produced by Evolution Productions.
