These features create an immersive pathway that stretches across walls and ceilings, guiding you into the heart of the Museum.Drawing inspiration from Minimalism while reinterpreting the movement through a contemporary feminist lens, Kire brings fresh attention to the often-overlooked contributions of women in the field. Bright, colourful and welcoming for all visitors, the artwork is both joyful and thought-provoking.Responding directly to the architecture of the Museum, City Hall and the Brisbane cityscape, Kire's design reveals unexpected connections between the built environment and abstract form. Warrajamba
Follow the mermaid in the bay. Dive into story, culture and hands-on creativity with our latest Artist in Residence, Quandamooka artist Delvene Cockatoo-Collins.Journey alongside Delvene to the shores of Minjerribah and discover the ancestral story of Warrajamba, the mermaid, a living cultural legacy that Delvene continues to explore as she searches for its lost ending.Get hands-on and create your own mermaid or dugong using artist-designed stamps, connecting with the stories of Warrajamba and Yungong, the dugong. Bush Kindy: Grandparents Day
Join a special Bush Kindy celebrating Grandparents Day! Bush Kindy is for children aged 3-5 years, alongside their grandparents, parents and carers. Be immersed in the natural surroundings of the reserve as children build nature confidence and respect for the environment through bushwalks, exploration, story-time, art 'n' craft and much more.Bush Kindy sessions can go for roughly 45 minutes and will go ahead in light rain. Themes and activities vary each week.This activity is for the general public. If you are a daycare or vacation group interested in attending a similar activity, send an email.Bookings requirements:Maximum 5 tickets as places are limited.A ratio of 1 adult per 4 children is required.All adults and children (including infants) must have a ticket.Please cancel via Eventbrite if you cannot attend.As this event is popular and places limited, late arrival tickets will be forfeited to make way for available attendees.Requirements:Arrive minimum 10 minutes early to check in with staff at the centre.All children must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult.Wear a hat, sun-safe clothing, fully enclosed walking shoes (no thongs or open shoes please), sunscreen, and bring insect repellent.Suitable old clothes recommended for messy play.Water and a snack if required, as there are no food outlets on site.Note: All outdoor events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.
