Celebrating its 20th year, the 4MBS Brisbane Shakespeare Festival brings the Bard to Brisbane with theatre, talks, dance, swordplay, and more fun for the whole family!Experience Shakespeare's thrilling tale of battles, rebellion and royal adventure with a professional production of Henry IV (Parts 1 & 2 combined) in the amphitheatre at 5.30pm. Follow the mischievous Prince Hal as he leaves behind a carefree life to face fierce rivals and fight for England's crown. Step inside an exciting new residency project that invites you to experience art in unexpected ways.Artist in Residence Renee Kire takes over Museum of Brisbane's entryway, transforming these spaces with a vibrant and dynamic mix of striking vinyl graphics and sculptural timber elements. These features create an immersive pathway that stretches across walls and ceilings, guiding you into the heart of the Museum.Drawing inspiration from Minimalism while reinterpreting the movement through a contemporary feminist lens, Kire brings fresh attention to the often-overlooked contributions of women in the field. Bright, colourful and welcoming for all visitors, the artwork is both joyful and thought-provoking.Responding directly to the architecture of the Museum, City Hall and the Brisbane cityscape, Kire's design reveals unexpected connections between the built environment and abstract form. Dive into story, culture and hands-on creativity with our latest Artist in Residence, Quandamooka artist Delvene Cockatoo-Collins.Journey alongside Delvene to the shores of Minjerribah and discover the ancestral story of Warrajamba, the mermaid, a living cultural legacy that Delvene continues to explore as she searches for its lost ending.Get hands-on and create your own mermaid or dugong using artist-designed stamps, connecting with the stories of Warrajamba and Yungong, the dugong. Discover the hidden secrets of your heritage-listed City Hall building with a guided tour of Brisbane's iconic Clock Tower.The Clock Tower Tour is a "must do" while in Brisbane!For many years, City Hall's Clock Tower elevated the building to Brisbane's tallest, offering visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of the city around them. Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of "taking a trip up the tower" happily continues at Museum of Brisbane.The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane's oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia's largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Bands in Parks performs at Old Government House.Echoes & Landscapes will bring their unique sounds to the Bands in Parks program. Come and enjoy the music where they will honour the lives and music of Australian plucked-string composers whose work helped shape our unique mandolin and guitar ensemble culture.At the heart of the program is the music of Robert Schulz, alongside works by Robert Kay and Duncan Gardiner.Together, their compositions reflect a deep connection to landscape, community, and storytelling, and celebrate a legacy that continues through today's performers.Location: George Street
