Follow the mermaid in the bay. Dive into story, culture and hands-on creativity with our latest Artist in Residence, Quandamooka artist Delvene Cockatoo-Collins. Journey alongside Delvene to the shores of Minjerribah and discover the ancestral story of Warrajamba, the mermaid, a living cultural legacy that Delvene continues to explore as she searches for its lost ending. Get hands-on and create your own mermaid or dugong using artist-designed stamps, connecting with the stories of Warrajamba and Yungong, the dugong. Discover Delvene’s powerful sculptural work made from materials gathered from Country - yungair/yungaire (freshwater reed), talwalpin (beach hibiscus cotton tree), and quampie shell. Come and be immersed in a space that celebrates care for land, sea and story. MoB’s Artist in Residence program is supported by Tim Fairfax AC. Gumtree Kids Messy Play at Carindale Recreation Reserve - Disney and friends theme
Join us for a messy, fun and creative themed messy play experience! At Gumtree Kids, little hands are encouraged to explore, create and play freely through thoughtfully designed sensory stations and open-ended play. Each session is themed, hands-on and full of textures, colours and imagination - all set up for children to enjoy at their own pace. Perfect for curious babies, toddlers and preschoolers, our sessions are suitable for ages 6 months to 5 years, with a relaxed, welcoming environment for families to connect, play and make memories together. Come along, get messy, and let the creativity flow.

Artist in Residence: Martin Edge
Queensland artist Martin Edge brings his playful, joy‑filled world to the Fairfax Gallery for his Artist in Residence project. Known for his vibrant scenes inspired by everyday life, from seaside moments and city adventures to his much‑loved CityCat journeys, Edge blends memory and imagination into colourful, whimsical compositions. Across three weeks, Edge will create a large‑scale mural directly onto the gallery walls, offering visitors a rare opportunity to watch his process in action and chat with him as the work evolves. Featuring bright colours, bold geometric forms and iconic Brisbane landmarks, the finished artwork will present two lively scenes of Brisbane City in Edge’s distinctive style. MoB’s Artist in Residence program is supported by Tim Fairfax AC. Martin Edge’s Residency is supported by The Culture Crusader. Clock Tower Tour
Discover the hidden secrets of your heritage-listed City Hall building with a guided tour of Brisbane’s iconic Clock Tower. The Clock Tower Tour is a “must do” while in Brisbane! For many years, City Hall’s Clock Tower elevated the building to Brisbane’s tallest, offering visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of the city around them. Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of “taking a trip up the tower” happily continues at Museum of Brisbane. The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. This exclusive to Brisbane exhibition, developed in close collaboration with Magpie Goose owners Amanda Hayman (Wakka Wakka and Kalkadoon) and Troy Casey (Kamilaroi), offers a deep dive into the work of some of the region’s most talented First Nations artists and designers. Using clothing as a canvas for storytelling, this exciting collaboration will connect audiences with the rich and diverse cultural expressions of First Nations communities in Queensland and beyond. Artist in Residence Renee Kire takes over Museum of Brisbane’s entryway, transforming these spaces with a vibrant and dynamic mix of striking vinyl graphics and sculptural timber elements. These features create an immersive pathway that stretches across walls and ceilings, guiding you into the heart of the Museum. Drawing inspiration from Minimalism while reinterpreting the movement through a contemporary feminist lens, Kire brings fresh attention to the often-overlooked contributions of women in the field. Bright, colourful and welcoming for all visitors, the artwork is both joyful and thought-provoking. Responding directly to the architecture of the Museum, City Hall and the Brisbane cityscape, Kire’s design reveals unexpected connections between the built environment and abstract form. Lord Mayor's City Hall Concerts - I Left My Heart In Highgate Hill (Pt.2)
Lord Mayor's City Hall Concerts presents I Left my Heart in Highgate Hill (Pt. 2). The Sean Sennett Seven make their return to Brisbane City Hall with their celebrated production I Left My Heart in Highgate Hill. The contemporary song cycle showcases some of Brisbane’s finest voices, including core vocalists Rachael Dixon, Charlotte Emily and Megan Cooper, alongside a stellar five-piece band and special guests. Featuring a mix of original songs and select covers, I Left My Heart in Highgate Hill has previously played to sold-out audiences at the Brisbane Festival and Woodford Folk Festival. The show captures the soul of the city through stories of love, place and belonging. The performance also includes material co-written by Sean Sennett with Kate Ceberano and Steve Kilbey, drawn from their acclaimed collaborative album The Dangerous Age. I Left My Heart In Highgate Hill is a love letter to Brisbane - told through song, story and heart. This Lord Mayor's City Hall Concert is produced by Anje West.

Gathering: Blak : Story : Song
Gathering presents Blak : Story : Song. Blak : Story : Song is a concert series that promotes and engages intergenerational First Nations singer songwriters and our international indigenous allies. Co-curated by Deline Briscoe (Yalanji), a collective of different artists perform songs each month in a stripped back, intimate set that allows space for truth telling, deeper audience connection and inspired musical collaborations. Take a 1 hour journey with these songwriters, while they share their songwriting talent in all its raw honesty. Catch their set from 12noon to 1pm at the Queen Street Mall main stage. This Gathering event is produced by Cre8tive Nations.
