Step inside an exciting new residency project that invites you to experience art in unexpected ways.Artist in Residence Renee Kire takes over Museum of Brisbane's entryway, transforming these spaces with a vibrant and dynamic mix of striking vinyl graphics and sculptural timber elements. These features create an immersive pathway that stretches across walls and ceilings, guiding you into the heart of the Museum.Drawing inspiration from Minimalism while reinterpreting the movement through a contemporary feminist lens, Kire brings fresh attention to the often-overlooked contributions of women in the field. Bright, colourful and welcoming for all visitors, the artwork is both joyful and thought-provoking.Responding directly to the architecture of the Museum, City Hall and the Brisbane cityscape, Kire's design reveals unexpected connections between the built environment and abstract form. In partnership with Queen's Wharf Brisbane and The Star Brisbane, The Royal Queensland Art Society Brisbane Branch is pleased to present the 2026 Queen's Wharf Brisbane Art Prize. Following on from the success of this exhibition in 2025 and with an expanded list of eligible mediums, visit Petrie Terrace Gallery to see what local artists love about Brisbane and their connection to it through art.Artists were asked to submit artworks that reflect what makes Brisbane and its surrounding attractions unique. Through their artworks artists have the opportunity to tell us the story of what they love about Brisbane and their connection to it through their art.
