Bush Kindy - World Wildlife Day
Join us for a special Bush Kindy session in celebration of World Wildlife Day! Bush Kindy is designed for children aged 3–5 years, accompanied by their parents. Each session runs for up to 45 minutes and explores a different nature-based theme each week. In honour of World Wildlife Day, we’ll be highlighting the wonders of local wildlife and the importance of protecting our natural habitats. This activity is for the general public. If you are a daycare or vacation group interested in attending a similar activity please send an email. Requirements: Arrive minimum 10 minutes early to check in with staff at the centre. All children must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult. Wear a hat, sun-safe clothing, fully enclosed walking shoes (no thongs or open shoes please), sunscreen, and bring insect repellent. Suitable old clothes recommended for messy play. Water and a snack if required, as there are no food outlets on site. Note: Events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.
Micro Museum
What will you collect? Welcome to Micro Museum – a space for telling stories through objects. You are invited to explore the fascinating world of collecting, and uncover the memories that objects hold. Inspired by major exhibition Precious in this space you are the curator. You can select, sort and arrange a wide array of items, many of which are second-hand or vintage. Each object holds memories, and now you can create your own. Gumtreekids Messy Play at Grinstead Park - Space theme
Join us for a messy, fun and creative themed messy play experience! At Gumtree Kids, little hands are encouraged to explore, create and play freely through thoughtfully designed sensory stations and open-ended play. Each session is themed, hands-on and full of textures, colours and imagination - all set up for children to enjoy at their own pace. Perfect for curious babies, toddlers and preschoolers, our sessions are suitable for ages 6 months to 5 years, with a relaxed, welcoming environment for families to connect, play and make memories together. Come along, get messy, and let the creativity flow.
Clock Tower Tour
Discover the hidden secrets of your heritage-listed City Hall building with a guided tour of Brisbane’s iconic Clock Tower. The Clock Tower Tour is a “must do” while in Brisbane! For many years, City Hall’s Clock Tower elevated the building to Brisbane’s tallest, offering visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of the city around them. Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of “taking a trip up the tower” happily continues at Museum of Brisbane. The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Children’s storytime in the park - Wynnum Wading Pool Park, Wynnum
Experience the magic of storytime with your child during a First 5 Forever storytime session in the park at the Pop-up Library. This interactive session includes stories and songs for young children. Ideal for children from birth to five years and their parents or carers. First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government. Location: This session is held in Whale Park, near the Wynnum Jetty (around 137 Wynnum Esplanade). On-street and park parking is available nearby.
Practical Wing Chun
Welcome to Practical Wing Chun! We are the martial arts school in Brisbane. Wing Chun is a Kungfu well known for its close quarters combat. It was designed for the street environment where aggression occurs more often. Practical Wing Chun welcomes people of all ages, gender, race, religious beliefs, skill levels, and body types. We believe people of all walks of life should experience the benefits that martial arts offer.
Seido Karate Classes for Adults & Teens
Our adult program offers classes at 6.30pm, three times a week (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday). Our adult program includes students as young as 10 through to students as mature as 80+! The adult syllabus starts from 15 years old, with students learning the junior (children’s) syllabus up until this age. Our classes are suitable for beginners through to advanced students. On Monday and Thursday, an advanced class is run simultaneously for our green, brown and black belt students. Black belt classes are also run at 7.30pm on Monday and Thursday. Adults and teenagers learn discipline, focus, confidence, strength and humility as well as being active and having the opportunity to socialise, meet and work out with like-minded individuals of various ages, abilities and backgrounds.
Alliance Francaise French Film Festival
The Alliance Française French Film Festival returns to Brisbane, presenting a rich and diverse celebration of French-language cinema. The festival brings a curated programme of feature films from France and the Francophone world, screening in original French with English subtitles. Over the season, audiences can experience a wide range of genres including contemporary dramas, comedies, documentaries and classics, reflecting the creativity and vitality of French cinema. Highlight events in Brisbane include the Opening Night Gala, themed CinéWine sessions with a glass of French wine on arrival, a family-friendly Ciné-Croissant screening with refreshments included, and the Closing Night presentation. Passport to the Universe
Get your passport for a thrilling journey through the Solar System, out of the Milky Way Galaxy and to the edge of the observable universe, returning home via a black hole. Narrated by Tom Hanks. Session concludes with a virtual tour of the Brisbane night sky. Passport to the Universe was developed by the American Museum of Natural History, New York in collaboration with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Major support for new version provided by the California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco.

Our children’s program has classes at 5.30pm, three times per week (Monday, Thursday & Friday). The majority of students in our children’s program are 6-12 years old, but we have some children start as young as 4 or 5 and some parents who join in the class with their child(ren). Our classes are suitable for beginners through to advanced students. On Monday and Thursday, an advanced class is run simultaneously for our advanced yellow, green, and brown belt students. Children learn discipline, focus, confidence, strength and humility as well as being active and learning to socialise and work with other children of various ages, abilities and backgrounds.

Bring your little ones (aged 0–1) to Karawatha Forest and let them discover the magic of free play in nature. This relaxed, outdoor session introduces babies to the wonders of the bush while offering families a safe, welcoming space to connect with each other and their local reserve. Requirements: All babies must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult. Please wear a wide-brimmed hat, sun-smart clothing, sunscreen, fully enclosed walking shoes, and insect repellent. Outdoor Cinema in the Suburbs - E.T
Enjoy the magic of the movies with E.T at your local park. The film will start shortly after sundown, so get in early to secure your spot. Take along chairs or a blanket, snacks or purchase from our vendors. This movie screening will have subtitles. This event is pet friendly! Please make sure to keep your furry friends on a leash if you bring them along.

Free native plant pop-up
Looking to give your garden a glow up? Join us for a pop-up native plant giveaway in 2026, with free plants available thanks to Brisbane City Council’s free native plants program. The event takes place on 7 March at Kenmore Plaza, with 500 native plants to be given away on the day.
Guided walk of the Tulla-yugaipa Track (useful plants)
Join this informative guided walk around the gentle 100m Tulla-yugaipa dhagun Track. Meaning ‘place of useful plants’. A volunteer guide will lead you around the trail to identify some of the featured native plants and other wetlands resources and explain some traditional uses. After the walk, visitors can enjoy other nearby walking tracks, relax in the picnic area, and visit Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre. Walk content most suited for adults, but children are welcome if accompanied by an adult. Requirements: All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear a wide-brimmed hat, secure and fully enclosed walking shoes, sun-smart clothing, sunscreen, and insect repellent. Guided discovery walk at Karawatha Forest
Join a volunteer guide as they share their knowledge of local flora and fauna along one of the many tracks in Karawatha Forest. Walks are taken at a gentle pace. Requirements: All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear a wide-brimmed hat, secure and fully enclosed walking shoes, sun-smart clothing, sunscreen, and insect repellent.
