Artist in Residence: Gerwyn Davies
Leading contemporary artist Gerwyn Davies presents a series of striking photographic portraits developed in collaboration with trans and gender-diverse young people from Open Doors Youth Service. Each vivid image features a handcrafted sculptural costume, allowing the wearer to represent themselves in spectacular ways while simultaneously retaining their anonymity. Together, the works celebrate self-expression, resilience, and the power of chosen visibility. MoB’s Artist in Residence program is supported by Tim Fairfax AC. Presented by Museum of Brisbane in partnership with MELT Festival, Brisbane Powerhouse. Stories You Wear: Magpie Goose
Celebrating Country and Culture through the bold designs of Magpie Goose. Museum of Brisbane is excited to collaborate with Magpie Goose, a proudly Aboriginal owned and led fashion and social enterprise, to celebrate extraordinary First Nations cultural stories and designs. This exclusive to Brisbane exhibition, developed in close collaboration with Magpie Goose owners Amanda Hayman (Wakka Wakka and Kalkadoon) and Troy Casey (Kamilaroi), offers a deep dive into the work of some of the region’s most talented First Nations artists and designers. Using clothing as a canvas for storytelling, this exciting collaboration will connect audiences with the rich and diverse cultural expressions of First Nations communities in Queensland and beyond. What's In The Woods? - Backbone Theatre For Babies
Be transported to a soft and cosy woodland, right out of a picture book, where each new season is full of natural wonders waiting to be discovered by young, inquisitive minds. Enjoy an engaging and interactive story by the campfire before embarking on your own sensory exploration of the woods. Tailor made for audiences aged 0-3 years and filled with performance, puppetry and play, ‘What’s In The Woods?’ is a gentle welcome to the world of theatre. The 'What's In The Woods?' sessions are split into 3 age groups running at various times: 0-1 years, 1-2 years and 2-3 years. Run time: Approximately 45 minutes, 20 minutes of performance and 25 minutes of play in the space. Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible Baby changing facilities provided onsite and in space. RQAS is starting 2026 with a Splash! The coasts and waterways are extremely valuable to all in Southeast Queensland and this exhibition allows everyone to celebrate all things nautical and aquatic. Whether it be the local estuaries’, the coast, boats in a marina, the backyard pool, or something else related to water, artists will be making a splash with water-themed artwork.
