Gathering: Kyara Hourigan
Gathering presents Kyara Hourigan.Kyara Hourigan is a proud Bundjalung, Mununjali, Kamilaroi and Mandandanji woman whose passion for weaving has been passed down through generations, learning the practice from her mother. Working with raffia and traditional Lomandra grass, Kyara creates beautifully crafted baskets, jewellery, and contemporary artworks that celebrate culture, creativity, and connection.Join Kyara for a free, hands-on weaving workshop and discover the art of traditional weaving in a welcoming and engaging setting. Participants will have the opportunity to learn weaving techniques while gaining insight into the cultural significance and storytelling embedded within the practice.Join us from 12 noon to 1pm for this free one-hour weaving workshop presented by Kyara Hourigan.This Gathering event is produced by Cre8tive Nations.
