Build, balance and create. Kids can design and construct their own 3D geometric sculptures of Brisbane’s cityscape and unique architecture. Using colourful shapes and textured elements inspired by Artist in Residence, Renee Kire, little makers can experiment with balance, structure and form while bringing their creative ideas to life. School holiday activity - NAIDOC Week
NAIDOC week celebrates the history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Join Sue and Duane at a grounded table of art materials and leaves. Paint a leaf and add it to a crown or wristband. Duane will quietly entertain with his didge sounds and stories of gum trees and their animals. You can also join the Education Team to taste test some bush food flavours. Learn the ins and outs of making bracelets from native fibres and sharpen your coordination skills with some traditional Indigenous games that have been played in Australia for many thousands of years. Bring a picnic blanket and lunch to enjoy on our grassy lawn. Location: Meet at the Auditorium lawn. Note: Children under 16 are to be accompanied by an adult. For more information, send an email.
