What's In The Woods? - Backbone Theatre For Babies
Be transported to a soft and cosy woodland, right out of a picture book, where each new season is full of natural wonders waiting to be discovered by young, inquisitive minds. Enjoy an engaging and interactive story by the campfire before embarking on your own sensory exploration of the woods. Tailor made for audiences aged 0-3 years and filled with performance, puppetry and play, ‘What’s In The Woods?’ is a gentle welcome to the world of theatre. The 'What's In The Woods?' sessions are split into 3 age groups running at various times: 0-1 years, 1-2 years and 2-3 years. Run time: Approximately 45 minutes, 20 minutes of performance and 25 minutes of play in the space. Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible Baby changing facilities provided onsite and in space. You can select, sort and arrange a wide array of items, many of which are second-hand or vintage. Each object holds memories, and now you can create your own. Clock Tower Tour
Discover the hidden secrets of your heritage-listed City Hall building with a guided tour of Brisbane’s iconic Clock Tower. The Clock Tower Tour is a “must do” while in Brisbane! For many years, City Hall’s Clock Tower elevated the building to Brisbane’s tallest, offering visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of the city around them. Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of “taking a trip up the tower” happily continues at Museum of Brisbane. The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Sherwood Arboretum Guided Walk
Sherwood Arboretum, established in 1925, is Brisbane’s only botanic garden dedicated exclusively to growing Australian native trees. The Arboretum holds scientific and cultural values with many of the original plantings undertaken by prominent citizens of Brisbane. The guided walk will be led by the Volunteer Guides of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha and the Friends of Sherwood Arboretum. Requirements: Please wear a hat, enclosed walking shoes, and be sure to bring a water bottle and sunscreen. Meeting point: Meet at the shelter adjacent to the main carpark off Jolimont Street, Sherwood. Age: Open to all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Venue: Sherwood Arboretum, 87 Jolimont Street, Sherwood.Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day. Bookings required via Eventbrite. World Wetlands Day - Wings Across the Globe - Shorebird Adventure
Ever wondered about the amazing birds you see along the water’s edge? Join us for a fun, family-friendly session where curiosity takes flight! Through hands-on activities and creative play, we’ll explore the wonderful world of shorebirds – how they live, what makes them special, and why our wetlands are so important to them. Take part in an interactive activity that brings these remarkable birds to life. Afterwards, explore the centre’s interactive displays or take a walk around the wetlands to see if you can spot some real-life feathered friends! Important information before you register: Suitable for ages 7-12 years All adults and children attending require a ticket for this event Maximum of 5 people per booking Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout, with a ratio of 1 adult supervising up to a maximum of 4 children If you cannot attend, please cancel your booking online via Eventbrite.On the day of the event: Please arrive 10 minutes before the starting time to check in with environment centre staff. Wear sun-safe clothing, sunscreen and enclosed shoes.
